I didn't even know this existed until right now. The song is not particularly special but the video is crazy great.
That's really bizarre. I'm not sure which scene I find the weirdest, the iguana/mouth cave, the dogs riding the roller coaster, or him dancing with the elephant skeleton. How peculiar.

Oh yeah! I remember seeing that as a kid and loving it, then I forgot about it until now.
The same director apparently did the cool videos for "And She Was" by Talking Heads and ""The Boy In The Bubble" by Paul Simon, as well as this incomprehensible but cool-looking video.
The Jackson video is pretty much his masterpiece, though.

Cool! I had never seen the video for "And She Was". Or the Paul Simon song either. I wasn't as impressed with those as with the Michael Jackson video though.
His other videos feel like he was just listening to the song and delivering images that matched what the lyrics described. The Jackson video has its own semi-coherent story that's only tangentially connected to the song lyrics and provides a context that the song by itself is lacking.

Yeah, those videos aren't nearly as good, I agree. But they are videos I've always thought were fairly cool and didn't know were by the same guy.
He also did Tears for Fears "Sowing The Seeds of Love" (which I liked when I was younger but is definitely not as cool as I remembered), a surprisingly boring Peter Gabriel video for a pretty ehh song, a couple of crappy new wave one-hit wonders and what has to be the worst Joni Mitchell song ever written. I refrained from posting those for obvious reasons.
While watching these videos I realize that I'd love to see a video game done in this style.

It lets you edit a comment as long as no one has replied to it, but currently there is no provision for deleting. I will add that to my list for the next update.
Also note that the accidental double-posting is only possible because I was young and foolish and didn't know about Post/Redirect/Get when I wrote it in the first place. That's also on my list for the next update.
