Australian scientists claim to have developed a new diagnostic tool that can detect and differentiate schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disease among others.

It works using a probe that goes in your ear and reads electric potentials from your tibula nucleus. They then disrupt your balance and watch the evoked potentials, which apparently form different curves to indicated different mental illnesses.

If it really works this would be a huge leap forward in diagnoses of mental illness.
