Google meets Earth meets Flicker for an Awesome Threesome
A cool improvement on the already pigged flicker site that allows you to view peoples pictures from around the world. This is basically the same thing, except its linked with Google Earth which allows you to click on any country and see random flicker pics from that country only. North Korea is conspicuously missing.

The thumb I borrowed from this guy....http://www.flickr.com/photos/patrick-smith-photography/3372340759/ and was taken in Big Sur, California... not a bad place to be this time of year I hear.

Before I even click the link you get +1 just for "pigged".

OK now I've looked at it and I'm pretty impressed.

First I went to Santa Barbara and looked at the apartment on Sabado Tarde road where I lived sophomore year. Sure enough there are pictures of strangers getting drunk!

Then I looked at where I live now. It feels kind of creepy to be looking through the photo albums of people I don't know who live a couple of blocks from me. Feels kind of... stalkey. I think I like it.

I noticed though that when you're zoomed further out, like at the state or country level, the pictures are suspiciously way too good. Does it pick the highest rated pictures for the area you're looking at or something like that?

Thats a good point, they must have some kind of rating system because once your zoomed out they do look way to professional, I also noticed that these pictures don't seem to change, so maybe they're just selected by the people of earthalbum...

But what made my day about this site is I was clicking around Encinitas and stumbled upon one of the greatest pictures of all time! http://www.flickr.com/photos/awfulshot/166119545/

Haha, I love the internet... :-)
