That was actually one of the better Obama interviews I've seen. They covered a lot of topics (or at least a lot of middle-eastern countries) and Obama put out some fairly specific policy plans. Not bad for O'Reilly.
I'll definitely be looking for the follow-ups next week.
The problem is that O'Reilly is so aggressive and confrontational (not to mention condescending) that he takes Obama off-guard. The goal is clearly to make him look unprepared and uncertain, and while his answers are all perfectly logical, O'Reilly's approach is not conducive to making a good impression.
Of course, few people who watch O'Reilly are going to vote for Obama anyway. So I suppose it can't hurt.
The rest of the Obama O'reilly interview at the below link. Unfortunately there were no sharing options, so I couldn't just embed it, but the remaining 3 parts are all up now.
I watched the remaining 3 parts and saw a commercial for some kind of robot deodorant 6 times. I like the format in that O'Reilly was really able to force Obama to give solid answers, but of course it's O'Reilly so the questions are bullshit. One whole segment (out of four) was devoted to basically criticizing some people he used to know for being nutcases. It's all just O'Reilly pushing his talking points and not about listening to what the interviewee has to say.
Nothing new for O'Reilly but it still filled me with bitter disgust.
I'll definitely be looking for the follow-ups next week.
