The goal of Fat Wang is to provide a place for people to post links that will interest other people. My Dad calls this concept a tip sheet, which is good enough for me.
The Fat Wang approach is to put you in charge of moderating your news. When you first log into the site you will see a list of the latest posts in chronological order. If you see one you like, hit the + button in the upper right corner to upmod it. If you don't like it, hit the - button instead to downmod.
When you moderate a post, Fat Wang remembers and uses that data to build a list of users that you like or dislike. When you come looking for news, Fat Wang builds a list of posts by these users as well as posts they have recommended. Posts are scored according to how you feel about the user (or users) who recommended them to you, then served up in descending order by score. In other words, Fat Wang delivers the posts it thinks you will like the most.
