That is indeed an innovative folding bike. I went to a bike store in PB a couple of weeks ago and tried a Dahon Espresso folding bike. It rode really nice but the folding action was not as slick as the prototype in your post.
Other folding bikes I haven't tried:
Montague seems to make the most full-size folders out there (they make the bike that comes with the Hummer H3) but they don't fold as nicely. Brompton has the slickest folding mechanism of any bike I've seen, but they only make bikes with tiny micro wheels.
These aren't folders but dynamic bicycles are pretty awesome. Drive shaft instead of a chain, and the gear shift is completely enclosed and inside the hub of the rear wheel so there's no exposed lubricant and nothing to get your pants caught in.
